Starting Point Nursery in Crewe, Cheshire, provides an outstanding early years experience for children aged 0-4. Located on the South Cheshire College campus, children benefit from a unique learning environment that includes access to the campus forest area and a kitchen garden where they grow their own vegetables for healthy recipes.

The nursery fosters an incredibly happy and nurturing atmosphere where children are encouraged to lead their own learning through imaginative play and engaging activities, such as building boats during pirate week or exploring a sensory trail in the forest. Staff go above and beyond to support children's development, ensuring they are deeply engaged and make rapid progress from their individual starting points.

The nursery places a strong emphasis on communication and literacy, offering multiple story sessions daily and encouraging children to ask questions and act out stories. With a dedicated team of 20 childcare staff, all qualified to at least Level 2, Starting Point Nursery, established in 2010, is committed to providing a high-quality education and enriching experiences for every child, including targeted support for those with special educational needs and/or disabilities and disadvantaged backgrounds.

The nursery operates year-round, from 8 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday, and actively involves parents in their children's learning journey through regular communication and resources to support home learning.

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are given targeted support, with highly successful intervention programmes delivered by staff and meetings with other professionals.

Outdoor space

Children have abundant opportunities to learn in the forest area and have their own kitchen garden where they grow vegetables for healthy recipes. Outdoor play is encouraged, with activities like going barefoot on a sensory trail.
