Parents are happy with the care and education their children receive.
Staff share information via an app daily, which keeps parents updated about their children's routines.
Staff also share progress reports and offer ideas, such as behaviour management strategies, that parents can use at home.
Inclusion & environment
The setting has a good overview of the children who have additional needs and how to support them. Staff work together to plan and implement play plans and strategies to ensure that children make progress. For example, staff have implemented a 'calm corner' for children to use if they are feeling a little anxious, which also helps children to regulate their emotions.
Older children plant fruit and vegetables in the garden, learning how to care for them and help them grow. Children also go on outings in the local area, such as trips to the park to feed the ducks and walks along the canal to watch the barges and boats.
Our son (15 months at time of writing) has been attending Station House since May 2024, and spends four days a week there. He is always pleased to see the staff, giving them big smiles when we drop him off in the morning. Whenever we come to pick him up, we always find him supervised and enjoying whatever he’s doing. The staff keep us updated through the day via an app, which lists everything from what he’s eaten to how long he’s napped for. They occasionally post photos of him enjoying an activity, or reaching milestones, such as attempts at standing / walking. It’s wonderful to receive these updates and we look forward to them. They also use the app to notify us of any incidents, and treatment given. There have been a few occasions when they’ve telephoned us to report him having a temperature and that he’s been given some medicine. Our boy seems to enjoy all the activities he takes part in and we are very pleased with the quality and range of the meals he receives. These often give us new ideas on what to feed him at home. The facilities at the station are very good and well maintained - there is a delightful outdoor play area, a good sized car park, and we found all the safety measures and precautions very reassuring. The staff are friendly, reliable and professional - we believe they genuinely enjoy looking after our boy. We feel completely at ease leaving him in their care. We would not hesitate to recommend Station House Nursery School to other parents.
Read on GoogleSo happy we chose Station House nursery! The team are really passionate about what they do and have been amazing looking after our son. The rooms are so cozy and packed full of activities. Plus he gets home cooked meals every day and a little uniform which we didn’t find with other local nurseries. After 2 weeks he loves going 💜
