Leaders and staff work exceptionally well in partnership with other professionals, including the local authority, to make referrals promptly. They develop personalised support plans that are finely tuned to children's individual needs. Leaders thoughtfully use additional funding to secure higher staffing levels, ensuring every child, particularly those requiring additional support, receives tailored intervention that maximises their progress and wellbeing.
Outdoor learning features strongly in children's learning experiences. During daily visits to forest school, children develop a wide range of skills, strengthening their core muscles as they climb trees, straddle large logs and navigate mud banks. In the outdoor classroom, staff encourage turn-taking and teamwork as children of different ages explore together, transporting buckets of soil and water across the garden.
Sunny Days is a truly magical place! Set on the village green in amongst the woods our children are outside every day, whatever the weather. They've learned so much about the natural world and have mastered all sorts of physical skills and developed lots of stamina. The village hall is the inside classroom & is a hub of creativity with a different theme every week. The breadth of what's been covered has been amazing & our boys are always full of lots of new things they've learned. What really makes it though is the nursery teachers - they are brilliant - so kind, patient and imaginative. We feel so lucky to send our boys there.
Read on GoogleMy daughter has attended Sunny Days for a little over a year and choosing this as her pre school setting has been the best decision we could have made for her. Everyone who works here truly cares about and understands children and this is clear in everything that they do. Sunny Days has a nurturing approach that made my daughter who had struggled to settle in other nurseries comfortable here in a very short time. She quickly made friends and looked forward to going in and seeing them. The staff are so creative in their themes which scaffold the week, and listen to the children's interests when planning activities and arranging their indoor space to keep it fresh and exciting for the children. They are kind and gentle and appear to possess endless reserves of patience. In her time here my daughter has learned to love and respect nature and to act safely outside. The children go outside every day, walking in the woods, climbing (safely!), resting in a hammock, toasting bread and learning fire safety, playing in the mud, and countless other activities. We have been blown away by the range of experiences Sunny Days has offered, like meeting (and holding) a giant snail, seeing tadpoles close up, sitting in a fire engine and meeting the fire fighters, and endless imaginative play. Overall, we could not be happier with this nursery. It has been more than just daycare for my daughter and I am confident that thanks to Sunny Days she is well prepared to go and start school, but I know that she will miss coming here. We feel lucky that she has had the option to attend. This nursery really is a very special place.
Read on GoogleOur daughter started at Sunny Days after her 3rd birthday and has just left to start in reception, and we are still in mourning about it! We feel so incredibly grateful to have found Sunny Days; she had the BEST time there. The wonderful team are so warm, caring and nurturing. They go on adventures into the woods, enjoy forest school, play in the playground and the big field and have a cosy classroom to return to in between. Our daughter has made some wonderful friendships, learnt a lot and developed a love of nature and the outdoors. She started reception this week with such confidence which I am sure was in no small part thanks to her experience at Sunny Days. We have a complicated home life with two working parents, one of us working shifts, and Gemma was super flexible, adding extra hours for us at short notice - nothing was ever a problem. I honestly don't think there can be a better preschool out there!
Read on GoogleWe....love....Sunny Days! My little boy started there very close to it first opening and had to sadly leave for school recently. The staff are consistent and lovely - just who you would like to leave your children with, knowing that they give the same level of care as you do. The access to the Forest School (mud play) area is fantastic, as well as so much play in the woods! They strike a great balance between being outside a lot and also doing fun inside activities.
Read on GoogleWe couldn’t be happier with our experience at **Sunny Days**! As a forest school, it has provided the perfect environment for our son to learn, grow, and explore. While the emphasis on outdoor play and nature-based learning has been incredible for his development, what truly sets Sunny Days apart is how well-rounded the experience is. Not only has he spent countless hours climbing trees, building dens, and discovering bugs, but he’s also learned so much indoors—especially through rhymes, songs, and other creative activities. From the moment we visited, we were impressed by the nurturing and passionate staff, especially Gemma, Kelly, Kimmi, and Ginni, who truly understand how to balance outdoor adventures with structured learning. Our son has thrived in this setting, becoming more confident, curious, and independent. He comes home every day singing new rhymes or telling us about his latest outdoor discoveries—it’s been such a joy to watch him grow in so many ways. The balance between outdoor exploration and indoor learning is perfect, and we love how Sunny Days encourages creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork. The outdoor-focused approach has helped our son develop a deep appreciation for the natural world, while the rhymes and songs have sparked his love for language and music. Communication from the nursery has been excellent, and we always feel informed about his progress and daily adventures. Staff at Sunny Days are warm, attentive, and genuinely care about each child’s well-being. Having tried other nurseries in the past, we can confidently say that Sunny Days stands out as truly exceptional. It’s been an absolute blessing to see our son flourish here, and we’re so grateful for the wonderful start it’s given him. Thank you to Gemma, Kelly, Kimmi, Ginni, and the entire team at Sunny Days for creating such a special place. We couldn’t recommend it more highly!
