Tarnerland Nursery School, situated in Brighton, East Sussex, opened its doors in 2004, offering childcare for children aged 0 to 2 years in its dedicated baby room. The day nursery operates weekdays from 8am to 6pm, 50 weeks a year, providing full-day care.

With 31 experienced staff members holding appropriate early years qualifications, the setting ensures a warm, safe, and stimulating environment. Tarnerland is part of a larger city school partnership and benefits from the support of the Brighton and Hove central Sure Start children's centre.

What it's like

Staff warmly welcome babies to nursery and listen with interest to their experiences to plan routines and support their well-being. The nursery provides a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for babies to explore, where they enjoy playing with water, mark-making, and climbing. Babies have fun in the large outdoor area, observe older children, and enjoy activities like crawling through a tunnel. At lunchtime, stories are skilfully delivered, captivating babies and prompting them to predict words.
