About this day nursery

The latest Ofsted inspection, on 20 March 2024, rated the nursery as 'Good'. The curriculum is ambitious and implemented effectively both indoors and outdoors, ensuring all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and those who speak English as an additional language, make good progress.

The Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) collaborates closely with parents, staff, and other agencies to ensure children's individual needs are met swiftly. Outdoor learning is a significant part of the curriculum; children enjoy outings to a nature reserve where they learn about animals, build dens with natural materials, and engage in imaginative play with rainwater puddles.

Indoors, staff create a language-rich environment, using various activities and events to build vocabulary and inspire children to retell stories. Children who may be behind in their development quickly catch up, benefiting from the skilful interactions of staff.

The recently employed manager has been instrumental in enhancing the nursery's quality, particularly in child safety and curriculum development, fostering a positive environment where children are happy, active, and increasingly independent.

How they support every child

SEND provision

All children, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, make good progress. The special educational needs coordinator works well with parents, staff and other agencies to meet children's individual needs. Referrals are now made as swiftly as possible, so children receive any intervention they need from other agencies.

Outdoor space

The curriculum is ambitious for all children, both indoors and outdoors. During outings to a nature reserve, children learn about animals such as horses, use logs and sticks to build dens, and paddle in puddles of rainwater. The inspector observed how staff support children during indoor and outdoor activities and assessed the impact this has on their learning.

Tenderlinks Nursery has been an absolutely wonderful place for our children, Matilda and Georgie. From the very beginning, the staff made us feel welcome and reassured, and it’s clear that they genuinely care about every child in their care. The environment is warm, safe, and full of engaging activities that have really helped both Matilda and Georgie grow in confidence and curiosity. We’ve loved seeing how excited they are each day to go in, and how much they talk about what they’ve learned and the friends they’ve made. The team are attentive, nurturing, and incredibly professional. They take the time to understand each child as an individual, and it shows in how happy and settled our children are. Communication with parents is also excellent, which gives us real peace of mind. We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Tenderlinks Nursery and would wholeheartedly recommend it to any family looking for a caring and inspiring place for their children.

Tenderlink Elstead is a wonderful, happy, caring and nurturing nursery. We moved to the area in Oct 2025 and were so worried about our eldest having to move nurseries, but she so quickly became part of the Tenderlinks family and is thriving because of their care. They truly do listen to the children and their interests - as the Mum of a little girl who is obsessed with craft and fancy dress, I can see every day the fun she has and how they are lead by the interests of the children. There is so much extra to the nursery too - be it Suzie songtime sessions, football with coach paul or gardening in the outside area - she comes home happy and fulfilled. I've now got my 1 year old there too and she is also loving it. She settled in so quickly and I can see they are already getting to know the little human she is and what she loves. Highly recommend Tenderlinks for anyone looking to send their little one there.
