Thames Valley Adventure Playground (TVAP) is a unique charity established in 1979, offering specialized adventurous, therapeutic, and educational play activities. 5-acre site, TVAP provides a safe, stimulating, and caring environment for children and adults with a wide range of disabilities—including physical, learning, sensory, behavioral, and autism—as well as those who are socially disadvantaged or unable to access mainstream provisions.
It serves individuals, families, schools, care homes, and other supporting groups, offering much-needed respite and advisory services. TVAP prides itself on being an inclusive play space that welcomes siblings, friends, and children from the local community to join in the fun.
The playground focuses on creating an accepting atmosphere where everyone is valued and can relax without judgment. It is run by a voluntary Board of Trustees, supported by permanent and sessional staff, and a dedicated team of volunteers.
The charity aims to provide opportunities for users to achieve new things and experience activities that might otherwise be inaccessible, such as using a wheelchair-accessible roundabout or an aerial path. TVAP emphasizes the importance of play, friendship, and respect, allowing families to create happy memories together.
Our ethos

All children share access to fully enclosed outdoor play areas.
The only place I've found where I don't worry about my daughter's safety while she plays. A closed in and secure playground with loads of indoor and outdoor play experiences for children with special needs. Our fave thing is the zipline chair.
