Inclusion & environment
Children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and those who speak English as an additional language, thrive in the nursery. Staff liaise very closely with parents to ensure that each child receives the support they need. Children with SEND make super progress within their capabilities.
Children learn about living things by feeding the free-roaming chicken outdoors. Staff understand the benefits of allowing babies to sleep outdoors, wrapping them up warmly and supervising them closely, which has a positive effect on children. Staff provide excellent opportunities for children to develop superb physical skills, with pre-school children sliding down a sheer slope in forest school.
My daughter started at The Children’s Garden in their Discoverers (baby) Room and we couldn’t be happier with how she’s settled in. She absolutely loves nursery and has formed lovely relationships with the staff there. Staff are proactive in communicating about how she’s getting on and the highlight of our week is seeing the photos of all the wonderful activities they’ve been doing. Her development has come on in leaps and bounds since starting and staff know her really well and exactly what her next steps need to be. She sleeps well and eats like a champion- the menus are fantastic- and we feel like the standard of care she receives at nursery is absolutely fantastic. The nursery also provides so many wonderful enrichment activities and events like forest school, art sessions, Makaton and parent events. We’re really happy to have chosen The Children’s Garden’s Garden for our daughter.
Read on GoogleMy daughter has attended the Children’s Garden for the last 3 years, she has always had such good support from the nursery and relationship with her key workers. You get such a lovely welcome when you walk into the nursery at drop off and pick up. Annabelle and Laura have always been so helpful with any concerns or issues we’ve had with our daughter. The forest school which she is attending at present is fantastic- such a lovely team. Highly recommend! Thank you!
Read on GoogleOur eldest daughter attended the Montessori room at The Children’s Garden in Stamford and had the most wonderful experience. She loved everything from having adventures at Forest School to being creative in the Atelier. The staff nurtured her and fostered her independent spirit, and she formed a close bond with her key person who we are still friends with to this day. To see how much our daughter developed in just a year at TCG was something special, and we are looking forward to seeing the positive impact TCG will have on our baby now that she is attending. As parents we also appreciate how much the staff support us. Thank you Ed, Claire, Jo and all at TCG.
Read on GoogleAs parents, we couldn't be happier with the nursery! What truly makes it fantastic is the balance of care and adventure; my child always comes home exuberant, full of stories from their incredible days and constantly showing us new skills in both movement and language which has been beyond expectations. The staff are genuinely warm and gentle and the nursery's emphasis on outdoor play and Forest School means my little one is developing confidence, curiosity, and a real love for the natural world. It really is a nurturing, explorative environment where children are truly set up to thrive!
Read on GoogleMy daughter has been attending The Children’s Garden for three years and has been in three different rooms, cared for by numerous excellent staff. There are some nursery staff who have the absolute gift and at TCG there are many of these gems, who can welcome even the most reluctant child (mine!) and make them feel special and cherished. With my daughter (and I’ve seen other kids be similar), the first challenge is getting them over the threshold into the play space and at TCG the children receive the warmest welcome from the entry foyer through all the nursery spaces and into their room. You’ll get nothing but light and positivity at TCG and when they get into their room they’re sharing food, baking, independently choosing their activities, enjoying free flow around the play areas and outside spaces, later on enjoying Forest School with the most caring and adorable women, and men, who have devoted their lives to making the early years experience truly magical for these kids. Special mention must go to Giusi, the huge hearted Italian who instils a love of cooking in 3 year olds, and Paul who is musical, nurturing and outdoorsy. I would 100% recommend TCG!
