About this day nursery

The De Lacey Montessori School, established in 1982, offers exceptional early years education for children aged 18 months and above. Nestled in a beautiful listed building in Isleworth, the school provides a unique learning environment with a strong emphasis on the Montessori method.

Children benefit from individualised Montessori teaching, small group sizes, and high staff ratios. The curriculum extends beyond traditional academics to include a comprehensive Forest School programme, weekly yoga and multi-sports classes, regular music and cookery sessions, and a kitchen garden programme where children learn to grow their own food.

The school prides itself on fostering a calm, joyful, and purposeful educational experience, preparing children for their future academic journeys. They also provide freshly prepared, nutritious vegetarian hot meals cooked on-site.

The De Lacey Montessori School is a family-run establishment, with the current senior manager and director, Charlotte de Lacey, having taken over from her mother, Sylvia.

Outdoor space

In the garden, children support each other to use the balance beams, holding hands and praising each other. Staff provide opportunities for children to keep healthy while they are at nursery, such as being physical outdoors as children wave ribbons and march around the garden.

We have been part of the De Lacey family for the past three years. Our son attended first, and he was always excited and happy to go to the nursery every day. Now, our daughter is at the De Lacey. She began when she was just 18 months old, and knowing the De Lacey staff gave us the confidence to enrol her at such an early age, especially as we are both working parents. The teachers at De Lacey have been exceptionally kind, caring, and loving towards our children. They have created a warm, nurturing environment that has played a significant role in our children’s early development. We are truly grateful for their hard work, dedication, and the thoughtful effort they put into making the nursery a safe, inclusive, and enriching space for every child. Sincere thanks to the whole De Lacey staff.

de Lacey Montessori School has travelled with us on our journey from being a parent of one child to two children, extending support, understanding and patience when we needed it. When my second daughter joined the nursery, she was just one year and few months and she was all around the place. The de Lacey staff patiently shaped her and brought my second one to a position where she started listening to instructions. Thank you for all the love that you showered on our children. Kudos to Charley, Renu, Arjetta and team....we will never forget you for all the kindness

Words cannot describe how grateful we are to have found De Lacey for our daughter. The team are excellent in every possible way and especially in providing both a stimulating, warm and nurturing environment for children in which we have seen our daughter thrive since she was 18 months old till now preparing for reception. The teachers are all truly gifted and our daughter has bonded strongly with each of them. I love that there are all kinds of enriching activities that are added to the curriculum like yoga, dance and drama and all within the environment of play that stimulates imagination. Highly highly recommend!

We are extremely happy with De Lacey Osterly Nursery and couldn’t recommend it more highly. From the very beginning, my son settled in so well thanks to the amazing support from the whole team. A special thank you to Humma and Iwona. Humma was my son’s key teacher when he first started, and she made that transition so positive and reassuring. His key teacher is now Iwona, who is just as wonderful. My son absolutely adores her, and it’s clear how much care, warmth, and attention she gives him every day. He is also very familiar and comfortable with the rest of the teachers, which really shows what a nurturing environment this nursery provides. We can clearly see our son’s development and are so happy to witness all the little improvements along the way. It’s lovely to see how much fun he has while learning, exploring his creativity, and growing in confidence. Knowing that he is happy, supported, and enjoying his time at nursery gives us great peace of mind. Thank you to the entire De Lacey Osterly team for everything you do.

Our child is 3 years old and has settled in really well. There were some days when he found it hard to separate from us, but the staff handled it very well and always kept us updated on how he was feeling, which really helped us feel reassured. The people who work there are genuine, friendly, and always happy to help. Our child isn’t just spending time there — he’s learning too. Since starting nursery, we’ve noticed he plays more independently at home and is better at tidying up his toys. He knows almost all the children by name and calls them his friends. Most importantly, he says he likes nursery — and we’re very happy with The de Lacey Montessori School in Isleworth.
