The Early Learning Camp, based in Exhall, Coventry, distinguishes itself through an 'American Camp' style approach to early years education, aiming to prepare children for primary school and beyond. The nursery serves children from 6 weeks to pre-school age, operating from 7:45 am to 6:00 pm.
Central to its philosophy is holistic child development, fostered through stimulating indoor and outdoor environments, with a strong emphasis on connecting with nature. This outdoor learning, including Forest School sessions, is seen as crucial for encouraging resilience, independence, and a love for learning through hands-on experiences.
The nursery aims to create an enjoyable learning experience that positively impacts children's physical, mental, and emotional well-being. The team, many of whom are parents or grandparents, are highly qualified and passionate about outdoor learning, ensuring that daily activities are exciting, fun, and align with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
The Early Learning Camp prides itself on nurturing curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning, offering an inspiring and supportive environment that goes beyond basic childcare provision to provide rich opportunities for development.
Our ethos
We believe in holistic child development which is achieved through our stimulating indoor and outdoor environment. All children learn the steps for a successful life through our American style approach which includes so much more than a traditional nursery environment. We believe that the closer children are to nature, the happier they will be which results in better learning opportunities. These sessions form a core part of our ethos, encouraging resilience, independence, respect for nature and deep, meaningful learning through hands-on experiences.

A Truly Wonderful Time at ELC! My little boy is due to finish four incredible years at The Early Learning Camp, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience he’s had. From day one, ELC has been a warm, welcoming, and nurturing environment. The staff are outstanding – kind, patient, and genuinely dedicated to the well-being and development of every child. They’ve taken the time to really get to know my boy, and it’s been so lovely to see the strong, caring relationships he’s built with both the team and his little friends. Over the years, I’ve not only watched my boy grow – I’ve watched the nursery grow too. It’s been fantastic to see ELC expand, with new rooms dedicated to the younger age groups. It’s a real testament to how the nursery continues to evolve and improve, always putting the needs of the children first. The communication from ELC has always been fantastic too – we’ve always felt informed, involved, and supported as parents - the daily photo updates have been a real highlight, giving me a lovely window into my child’s day and all the fun and learning he’s been part of. Thankfully, it’s not goodbye just yet – my little girl is moving up to Honey Pot Cabin, and we’re so excited for her next chapter at ELC. I would wholeheartedly recommend ELC to any family looking for a loving, professional, and inspiring nursery setting.
Read on GoogleMy daughter has been part of the ELC since May 2023 and I cannot convey just how happy we are with our choice of childcare provider. Every member of staff is completely committed to providing the children the highest level of care and enrichment. The curiosity approach is fantastic as each child is at the heart of it. The physical environment inside and outside is second to none, to have a outdoor classroom, a camp fire area, mud kitchens and an allotment to name but a few things is truly unique. I feel very involved in my child's care the staff are fantastic at communicating throughout the day and it's lovely to have parent's evening's, termly reports , a parent forum, long transition lead times when a child is ready to move to a new room. my daughter is absolutely thriving in this environment and has come on leaps and bounds. I cannot thank the ELC for their dedication to my daughter and to all the children in their care. If you are looking for a childcare provider who puts your child at the heart of everything then stop looking you have found the right place.
Read on GoogleGreat nursery, lots of learning development opportunities for the children. Outdoor area set up well for interactive activities & stimulation as well as the indoor area set up good for them to explore & learn. Staff are great, very attentive & caring and will listen to parents concerns and implement any changes accordingly as per parents requests as well as help parents and give advice. Lovely environment, the children are looked after well as the staff act with integrity and care. Would definitely recommend this nursery!
