About this day nursery

The Rises Private Day Nursery, established in 2003, is conveniently located near Shaw town centre, providing easy access for commuting parents from Oldham, Rochdale, and Manchester. The nursery operates with an open-door policy, encouraging parents to discuss their child's needs at any time.

The facility is divided into five groups, with three rooms dedicated to children under two years old, and the first floor accommodating two and three-year-olds. The Baby Room caters to babies with a cosy sleep area and a separate menu for weaning, while the Snowdrops Room is for more mobile older babies, encouraging exploration with various toys and messy play.

The Sunshine Room provides a busy day with craft projects and roleplay, moving children towards toilet training. The Rainbow Room, for two to three-year-olds, focuses on oral hygiene and early learning skills.

The nursery emphasises learning through play, providing opportunities for exploration, experimentation, and the development of confidence, independence, tolerance, and respect for others' beliefs.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff have worked hard to help disadvantaged children to catch up with their peers. They have used funding to meet their individual learning needs. For example, funding has been used to purchase a 'turn-taking teddy'. This has helped children who need a little bit of help to wait patiently for their turn.

Outdoor space

Staff offer good levels of supervision without hindering children's learning and progress. For example, they give toddlers the freedom to run and develop their muscles as they play outdoors. This also helps toddlers to build their confidence and resilience as they take risks in a safe environment.
