About this day nursery

The Rochford Day Nursery, established in 2001, provides childcare for children aged 0-4 years. Open all year, Monday to Friday from 7am until 6:30pm, the nursery (rated Good by Ofsted on 11/05/2023) prioritises a consistent and welcoming environment where children can form meaningful bonds with staff.

The setting has made significant improvements since its previous inspection, with leaders and managers working hard to enhance the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management. Babies at the nursery enjoy using indoor play equipment to strengthen their muscles, while older children confidently engage in physical play in the garden area, building obstacle courses with guidance before completing them independently.

The curriculum focuses on developing children’s patience and concentration through activities such as observing a toy frog jump, and staff effectively help children refocus when needed. The nursery offers an inclusive environment and has readily available information for staff to support children with specific needs.

They work in partnership with other professionals to ensure all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, make good progress. Children also gain a good understanding of health, including dental hygiene and personal care independence, with staff encouraging them to be independent in tasks like getting their own tissues.

Staff are supported with regular training and feedback, ensuring that all staff know the children well, and agency staff consistently work in familiar rooms to provide continuity.

There is always a massive turnover of staff here and I wonder why. I would not give it any stars.
