Inclusion & environment
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) make good progress. Staff are supportive and understand children's unique needs, for example, by supporting children who struggle with mealtimes to eat close by the main group to help them feel secure.
Children spend time outdoors every day, which supports their health and well-being. They develop their physical skills with a sports coach who attends each week.
We couldn’t be happier with The Yellow Door Day Nursery. From the very beginning, it has felt like such a warm, nurturing, and inspiring environment for our family. Our 4-year-old son absolutely loves attending and has truly thrived since starting when he was 15 months old. He goes in each day excited and comes home full of stories, confidence, and new skills. One of the things we value most is the nursery’s teaching style. The way they encourage children to make their own informed decisions is wonderful to see — it really supports independence, confidence, and critical thinking from such a young age. The eco-friendly approach is also fantastic; it’s so important to us that our children understand and respect the world around them, and TYD weaves this naturally into everyday learning. Every single member of staff is approachable, friendly, and genuinely caring. You can clearly see that they have the children’s best interests at heart in everything they do. The communication with parents is excellent, and we always feel listened to and supported. With our daughter due to start soon, we are so excited for her to begin her journey at TYD. Watching our son flourish has been such a joy, and we can’t wait to see her develop the same confidence, independence, and love of learning as her big brother. We would wholeheartedly recommend The Yellow Door Day Nursery to any parent looking for a nurturing, forward-thinking, and truly special place for their child 💛
Read on GoogleAmazing nursery. The minute you walk in, you notice how clean and bright the space is—it really stands out compared to other places we visited in the area. Everyone is very welcoming and caring, made us feel part of the nursery family. My daughter started when she was only 10m and I can see how much she developed since then and how happy she is here! ☺️
Read on GoogleWe couldn't have picked a better nursery for our son. He absolutely LOVES going to The Yellow Door and has come on leaps and bounds since starting. Thee children are always kept busy and engaged, always doing something different. The staff are amazing and you can tell they really care about what they do and love to see the children develop. We get regular updates and pictures through the app. They are very eco conscious, which was one reason we picked them as well as recommendations and their teaching style. The Nursery has a lovely homely feel. If we could give 10 stars we would. Highly highly recommend!
Read on GoogleVery Poor SEN support for autistic kids and always seem understaffed. A vegetarian nursery which i find obsurd because kids need meat to grow as they contain vital vitamins minerals and proteins. The Government pays them extra for SEN support which has not been utilised virtually no development or anything beneficial in my opinion. Honestly one of poorest ran nurserys i have ever seen and i for one wont be sending my child back there. The younger staff are very nice and seem to take more interest but the middle aged and senior staff members are just crap. Disapointing!!! Screenshot below of their saltiness and lack of professionlism. Proves me right about the sort of people working there
Read on GoogleMy 2 year old son started at the Yellow Door Nursery at the start of September and he is totally settled in there now thanks to the amazing staff there. There are great daily activities with lots of messy and outdoor play which he loved and you receive updates throughout the day and lots of pictures so that we can see what he’s been up to. The nursery has a lovely feel to it, it’s brand new with lots of traditional as well as modern toys and the menu is fantastic with lots of varied options and updates stating that Tommy has often had 2 plates. It was a big transition after lockdown and being at home for 6 months but the team at Yellow Door made it really smooth with lots of support and cuddles when needed.
