Inclusion & environment
Leaders and staff carefully adapt teaching for disadvantaged children and those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Calming areas are available and adaptations and adjustments are made for children who need this to support their learning and development. Those with SEND have their needs identified and met to enable them to make progress, with appropriate liaison with education professionals enabling timely interventions. Staff access a range of support to extend their knowledge and expertise for their role to best support children with gaps in their learning and development.
Children learn about safety, risk and the wider world through exploration of their environment, including a forest school where they collect leaves and discuss their size and shape. There is an emphasis on outdoor learning in nature, with forest school and access to the nearby farm extending learning and widening children's understanding of the world. Children build hedgehog boxes and experience wildlife, such as deer, rabbits and birds in their habitat.
