Tic Tocs Nursery, established in 1996, was the first nursery acquired by Devon Nurseries in 2006. Located on Haldon Road, close to Exeter College and Exeter University, it offers an inclusive and culturally diverse educational environment for children aged 3 months to 5 years.
The nursery boasts three spacious rooms, a kitchen, and a garden. Operating from 7:45 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday, Tic Tocs is committed to providing a high-quality start in life for children in Exeter.
The dedicated staff team includes an Arabic-speaking member to assist families with translation. Jessica, the manager, and Maxine, the deputy manager, lead the team of experienced staff, ensuring that Ofsted requirements for qualified staff ratios are met.
The nursery also employs a cook who prepares fresh, balanced, and nutritious meals daily, with no pork served on the menu. Staff development and training are prioritised to maintain the quality of education and care.

They recommend the nursery to others.
Inclusion & environment
Staff encourage children to explore the full curriculum, both indoors and outdoors. In the toddler room, staff build on the transport project by creating a sand and vehicle activity outdoors. As children play with toy versions of large trucks in a sand tray, they develop their hand-eye coordination.
Leaders do not always ensure that staff provide the support children who learn English as an additional language need, so that all children can develop their language and communication skills even further.
Wonderful nursery in the center of Exeter City, good access to drop off and collect, great staff that all love working with the children. Interesting activities every day to engage and develop our son. Very good app in use to update us on his progress and communicate with the staff. Reasonable fees and a discount for non attendance for holidays etc if enough notice is given.
Read on GoogleSuch a lovely nursery! My daughter has been there since September 2022 and has thrived massively! From being extremely fussy at home to eating all new foods there. From struggling with counting to now counting to 10 perfectly I can’t thank the wonderful staff members for making that happen. She looks forward to nursery every day she goes and talks about it all the time she’s not their. The staff create such wonderful bonds with the children and also make sure you are kept up to date on your child’s day. 10 out of 10
