Tots Rye Day Nursery, established in 2022, provides childcare for children aged 1 to 4 years. Open all year round, Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 6 pm, except for bank holidays, the nursery benefits from a "Good" Ofsted rating, following its inspection on 23 January 2025.
Children are observed to arrive happily, forming good relationships with staff and demonstrating a sense of belonging. The nursery employs a well-thought-out curriculum, designed to meet the needs and abilities of the children, offering plenty of opportunities for sensory exploration and imaginative play both indoors and outdoors.
Leaders swiftly identify children who require additional help, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), making referrals for support with parental consent. They target additional funding effectively and have plans to create a sensory room, in addition to following professional guidance to implement intervention strategies and individual learning plans.
Staff engage children in one-to-one activities to support their progress. Parents speak highly of the setting, appreciating the engaging and friendly staff and being well-informed about their children's daily activities through face-to-face handovers.

Inclusion & environment

Leaders have made links with the local authority's early years advisers and SEND support team, effectively target additional funding, and plan to create a sensory room. They follow professionals' guidance to implement intervention strategies and devise individual learning plans, with staff engaging children in one-to-one activities to help them make progress towards their targets.
The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact on children's learning. The manager and the inspector carried out a joint observation during outdoor play.
I am beyond thankfull to all the staff in Tots Rye Nursery. My daughter (Amani) learn so many things and was loved by everyone. Im feeling nostalgyc that she have to continue to big school now. Miss Ann miss Tina and Miss Alice and all the rest thank you for the care 🤍🙏 we will miss you 🥲
