About this day nursery

Traquinas Childcare, founded in 2010 by Carla as a childminding service, expanded significantly due to its growing numbers. By 2013, it transitioned to a childcare facility operating from domestic premises, hiring additional qualified and experienced staff.

The establishment further grew into two distinct nurseries by 2017, with the opening of Traquinas Raymond Street. The nursery is built on the philosophy that every child is a unique, independent, and creative individual with great potential.

They believe that early years experiences are crucial for a child's overall development, laying the groundwork for future learning across various aspects of human experience. Traquinas is committed to delivering the highest standards of care and early education, customising its approach to meet each child's specific interests and needs.

At Traquinas Childcare we consider every 'little person' to be a beautiful, independent, fascinating, creative individual with a huge amount to offer the world. At Traquinas Childcare we understand that the importance of the early years in a child's general development cannot be overemphasised. Any experience which caters for the needs of the children, before they reach statutory school age, establishes the foundations of future learning in many areas of human experience.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff strive to provide a setting that enhances children learning experiences, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). They work incredibly well with other professionals to improve outcomes for all children. The management team use additional funding to ensure children with SEND experience the same opportunities. They plan excellent extra-curricular opportunities, such as swimming lessons, forest school, trips to the local care homes, and have hired a speech and language therapist to support children develop their communication skills.

Outdoor space

Children have excellent physical skills and understand the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. They skilfully use equipment to create obstacle courses and balancing platforms in the garden. For instance, children spend the day in their allotment where they learn about life cycles and their environment.

My son started here at 9 months old and the staff immediately made him feel at ease and alleviated any concerns that I had. Every member of staff treats each child as the individual that they are and really help to nurture and grow their skills. The Nursery keep us up to date regularly through the app. They put on lots of events to make you feel included in nursery life, stay and play is a particular favourite. Traquinas creates a family feel atmosphere at every stage of contact, and always makes us feel supported as parents.

Our journey with Traquinas over the last 7 months has been by far the best decision myself and my partner have made by putting our son into croxton road nursery, at the very beginning we had a few tears with dropping him off by was reassured that he settled in very quickly within 15minutes, and now dropping him off it is a completely different story! He now runs in to see his favourite members of staff! Which is currently Amy & Skye or it could be as he knows his breakfast is ready! 🤣 I look forward to my daily update recieveing pictures and seeing what he is up to throughout the day. Myself and my partner can not believe how far he has come in such a short time with his confidence learning makaton, his speech, sharing, playing and eating with cutlery. At first I was very anxious about leaving my boy (1st child) in the hand of someone else but I certainly do not have any regrets, as I can clearly see all the staff are amazing and you can see the bond they have with all the children. Would absolutely highly recommend to anyone looking for a nursery!

My little girl has been attending Traquinas Nursery for a few months now and she absolutely loves it. I was so fussy when picking a nursery but Traquinas was definitely the right choice. I would highly recommend them. The app they use and keep you up to date throughout the day is brilliant and we love to look through her photos to see what she has been up to through the day. All the staff are so friendly although a special mention to Jane who is amazing! My little one loves the food they provide too!

Happy, friendly, enthusiastic staff that are always smiling and go above and beyond for all the children as well as the families of each child! Always happy to help out in whatever way they can! My son loves it here and has progressed so much in the 3 years he has been going!
