About this day nursery

Wellies Day Nursery, located in North Crawley and established in 1989, provides a secure, enjoyable, and educational setting for young children. Under the continuous guidance of Helen Hobbs, the nursery offers flexible childcare options, including full-time, part-time, and term-time attendance, designed to meet diverse family needs.

The nursery caters to children from six weeks old up to school age, fostering their development through opportunities for exploration, discovery, and social engagement, all within a safe and nurturing environment. Wellies Day Nursery prioritises a high staff-to-child ratio, employing a team of highly trained, qualified, and friendly professionals.

The facility, a converted and expanded farm cottage, boasts seven dedicated rooms for childcare, ensuring appropriate staffing ratios for different age groups, from infants in the baby room to pre-schoolers in the Super Ted’s Pre-school room. In 2020, the pre-school facility was further enhanced with the conversion of a Dairy Barn into a beautiful new space.

Additionally, the nursery features an expansive outdoor play area, one of the largest for under-fives in Milton Keynes, offering children ample space to play, explore, and interact with the natural farm surroundings, including opportunities to observe farm activities from a safe distance.

We moved our 3 year old to Wellies as he hadn't settled at another nursery. As soon as we looked around we could see what a great place it would be. The activities and equipment available to the children is fantastic. Within just a couple of days we saw such a change in our son. He was so happy to go in and talkative when he came out of all the wonderful things he had done during the day. The staff are all superb and the pride they have in their work is clear to see. They create a caring environment for the children while nurturing their development to be the best they can.

From the first moment we walk through the door at Wellies, we just knew it was the right place for our family and we weren't wrong. Both our children have attended, one has a few more years to go. We can't praise Wellies enough or fault the care they give to all the children in there care, you feel part of the family. The facilities are amazing, with a massive out door space that the kids love using. You can see the reinvestment back into the nursery and the continuous improvements. Highly recommend!!

This is an outstanding nursery where my nearly 4 year old daughter has received top quality care . The manager knows every child and family and takes it upon herself to go above and beyond. The staff treat the children as if their own. I am always well informed about my child's progress and the communication is very good. I would not hesitate about recommending this nursery to anyone who wants to see their child flourish and reach their full potential. I and my daughter will be very sad to leave this summer but Wellies have prepared my little one so well for the next step of primary school especially with the support throughout this lockdown period.

Fantastic nursery. The children really learn stuff with the great activities they offer. Plus flexible and accommodating as well! Reserve a place early because it is very popular locally.
