Welsh Lane Day Nursery, situated just outside Stowe, commenced its operations in 2001, providing childcare to children aged 6 months to 4 years. The nursery places a strong emphasis on recognising each child's unique individuality, irrespective of age, ability, culture, or religion, and tailoring its services to meet their specific needs.
It aims to foster each child's full potential through a differentiated curriculum and adaptable activities within its early childhood education framework. The nursery operates distinct rooms, with the Acorn room accommodating up to nine under-two children, though capped at six for a more intimate setting and a 1:3 staff ratio.
This room provides ample floor space, a messy activity area, and an attached sleep room with individual cots. It also features a private garden play area with various outdoor equipment.
The Oak Trees room caters to children aged 2 to 4 years, maintaining a 1:5 staff ratio for two-year-olds and 1:8 for those aged 3 and above. This room offers a tranquil space for quiet activities, alongside areas for active, creative, and physical play, with direct access to an outdoor area tailored to the seven areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Additionally, children in the Oak Trees room can participate in weekly Forest School sessions, exploring nature and engaging in activities such as den and fire building. Welsh Lane Day Nursery prioritises safety with modern security systems and trained staff, and provides nutritious meals prepared freshly on-site.
The nursery also offers flexible scheduling and competitive pricing, with subsidies and sibling discounts available. Funding options, including the 30 hours free childcare for eligible parents, are supported, and fees are reviewed annually.
Our ethos
We recognise that every child is unique, regardless of age, ability, culture, and religion, and understand that each child has individual needs. Our childcare services aim to help children realise their full potential by meeting their personal requirements through a differentiated curriculum in our day nursery and adapting activities where necessary to support early childhood education.
