Catterick Garrison Preschool Group (CGPG) provides a nurturing and secure environment for young children, recognising the critical developmental stages of early childhood. The group emphasises play-based learning, incorporating sensory and movement activities, quiet time, and creative exploration.
They are committed to supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), collaborating with parents and external agencies to tailor learning methods for individual needs. CGPG understands the unique challenges faced by Armed Forces families, offering support during transitions and fostering connections with those who may be geographically distant.
The curriculum includes rich outdoor play, encouraging physical development and connection with nature, alongside creative learning through music, art, sand, water, and imaginative play using a variety of resources. Staff support children's emotional well-being from the moment they enter the pre-school. Children are greeted with genuine beaming smiles and a cheery welcome from all staff. Children make good progress from their starting points, and staff have high expectations for all children.
This term-time nursery operates for 38 weeks of the year. Additional hours outside of funded provision are charged on an hourly basis in advance. Fees include breakfast and snacks, while parents are required to provide their own packed lunches, nappies, and wipes.
