Inclusion & environment
Children's specific needs are met because staff know them very well due to the small scale of the nursery, allowing them to spend good amounts of time with each child to promote their learning and development. Well-targeted next steps are identified for each child around specific areas of learning and activities, and staff use the Development Matters in the Early Years Foundation Stage guidance effectively.
Children enjoy playing outside and they benefit from being able to have free-flow between the inside and outside areas. They are confident to explore the sand and staff support their physical skills when they move between grassy areas, soft play, and decked areas. The staff regularly take them for walks in the village, for example, to the florist shop.
