Willow Brook Pre School, established in 2015, provides a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 2 to 4 years. 15pm during term time, the pre-school has achieved an Outstanding rating from Ofsted, most recently confirmed in November 2022.
Children here are observed to be calm, contented, and happy, forming strong bonds with both staff and peers, and developing into confident communicators with an extensive vocabulary. The curriculum is clear and ambitious, with staff demonstrating a firm understanding of its intent and focusing on fostering children's independence.
For instance, even the youngest children are encouraged to dress themselves for outdoor play, building self-sufficiency in preparation for school. Willow Brook Pre School offers superb outdoor learning opportunities, including regular forest school sessions.
These sessions allow children to safely engage with nature, learn to manage risks by climbing trees and balancing on beams, and develop an understanding of safety measures. Staff have high expectations and skillfully encourage children's natural curiosity through engaging, hands-on learning experiences, such as exploring the solar system with a real telescope or making rockets from recycled materials.
