About this day nursery

Wonder Barn is a nursery planned to open in spring 2025 in the rural area of Green Tye, near Bishops Stortford. It was founded by two Early Years Teachers and provides care for children from birth to five years old. The provision is based on play-based learning with a focus on preparing children for their transition to school.

The day nursery has a two-acre outdoor area where children can interact with farm animals including chickens, ducks, and geese. There are a limited number of spaces available for children under the age of two. The organisation offers term-time-only placements and a 'pay as you go' model for holiday care.

Our ethos

Wonder Barn offers a play-based learning environment, aiming to foster advanced skills and knowledge for school readiness. The founders believe in facilitating learning through meaningful play, guided by skilled staff, within a warm, secure homely atmosphere that celebrates each child’s individuality. The nursery’s approach also includes a focus on holistic development and inclusive learning through extensive outdoor exploration and interaction with nature and farm animals.
