Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Information gathered when children first start, along with consistent observation and assessment of children, means that staff are able to plan effectively for children's individual needs. If gaps in children's learning are identified, staff plan booster sessions to support children's development. If required, staff work with other agencies and parents to ensure consistency for children to help them make progress in the quickest time possible.

Outdoor space

Children's physical development is effectively planned to help them develop new skills and build on existing ones. Staff recognise that some children learn best outdoors and provide engaging activities in the garden and the forest school area.

It's nearly been an year since our daughter started Woodlands and it's truly been an amazing experience for her. Most notably the nursery is securely housed within the primary school setting so children can enjoy the outdoor space and also get an exposure to older kids in primary school. Friendly staff with an amazing attitude creates a vibrant environment for kids to learn and thrive. Grateful to be part of the community.

Woodlands Day Nursery are just amazing. The only childcare setting I have felt fully comfortable sending my daughter. She has been there for almost 2 years now and the care and education she has received here has gone beyond my expectations. The trips, activities and opportunities they provide are endless. All of the staff are lovely and so supportive and have been at the setting for years (no high staff turnover here at all). We are very excited for our younger daughter to be able to attend next year! Thank you WoodlandsTeam.

A fantastic nursery which outshines our previous ones our daughter went to when we lived in Northwood. The teachers are fantastic and so warm they create a lovely home from home atmosphere for the children to develop and shine. We feel very lucky to have our daughter at this nursery and have already booked a spot for our 3 week old for when she turns two :)

I’m so pleased I found Woodlands! My son loves it there, they do so much, the staff are lovely, and he’s built strong bonds with many of them. I know he’s having the best time, thank you!

Woodlands is a homely, friendly and nurturing nursery and my daughter loves coming into nursery each day. The children participate in a huge range of activities, from messy play, cooking, crafts, to celebrating different events, I don’t know where all the ideas come from! There is lots of opportunity for outdoor play, including access to the school’s adventure playground. The team work hard to include parents with a range of events throughout the year. A big difference with this nursery compared to others is the low turnover and consistency of the staff who are all brilliant! I would definitely recommend Woodlands!
