Woodroyd Nursery and Children Centre in Bradford, established in 2006, provides outstanding early years education and care for children aged 0 to 4 years. 30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, the nursery is known for its exceptionally inclusive and community-focused approach, with staff and leaders holding very high ambitions for all children.

Key persons work closely with parents to ensure children feel safe and secure, fostering independence by encouraging them to access a variety of resources, from creative art supplies to play dough for developing fine motor skills. The curriculum is delivered with a strong focus on children's interests, ensuring they remain highly engaged.

The nursery boasts large, well-resourced outdoor areas where children are encouraged to play in all weathers, enhancing physical activity, resilience, and stamina. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) make rapid progress due to the nursery's inclusive practices and dedicated support from external agencies and good communication with local schools.

The nursery also places a strong emphasis on developing communication skills, with new stories introduced weekly to extend vocabulary, and targeted support for speech and language where needed. How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) make rapid progress. The nursery is extremely inclusive, and staff go above and beyond to ensure all children have the same opportunities. They work with a wide range of outside agencies to provide children with targeted education and care plans, and communicate well with local schools to ensure continued support for children with SEND.

Outdoor space

Children enjoy spending time in the large, well-resourced outdoor areas. They learn to navigate space on ride-on toys and practice climbing and balancing on play equipment. Staff encourage them to play outside in all weathers, which increases physical activity and builds resilience and stamina.
