Young Persons Centre, an all-year childcare setting in Wigan, provides outstanding care and education for children aged 2 to 11 years. Established in 2006, the nursery operates Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, closing only for bank holidays and one week at Christmas.

Young Persons Centre also excels in its provision for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), with staff building excellent partnerships with external agencies and therapists to offer targeted, individualised support, ensuring optimum progress for every child. Outdoor learning is a daily highlight, with children relishing the opportunity to play with older children in the school yard, fostering confidence and familiarity with school routines ahead of their transition.
The nursery also places a strong emphasis on communication and language development, with staff taking every opportunity to enhance learning and prepare children for recognising sounds in words. Inclusion & environment
Staff have forged excellent partnerships with other agencies. This has a huge impact on all children's experiences, especially those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Staff use targeted advice from therapists so that children receive specific support that is matched to their individual learning needs. As a result, children with SEND make optimum progress.
Children relish the opportunities to play with the older children in the school yard. This is part of their daily routine.
