About this day nursery

ACE Nursery, located in Derby, provides childcare services for children from birth to 11 years old. Having started as an After School Club in 1995, the nursery expanded to offer full-day care with capacity for up to 74 children.

The nursery prides itself on being integrated within the local Austin community, with many children being second-generation attendees. ACE Nursery distinguishes itself by offering hourly care rather than sessional care, maintaining competitive pricing within the market.

Any profits generated are reinvested into enhancing the children's experience or supporting other local community projects. The nursery collaborates with local schools, Sure Start, and DCC Early Years to deliver high-quality childcare.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

The manager accurately identifies when children have gaps in their learning and require additional support. Staff have worked with parents to implement an early communication programme, which is having a positive impact on children's early speaking and listening skills.

Outdoor space

Children frequently choose to play outside and staff respond to their ideas, extending activities (for example, introducing new equipment for ball games). Children are encouraged to take part in a wide range of physical activities, such as climbing, balancing and using the trampoline.
