About this day nursery
Alvaston Achievers Day Nursery, established in 2020, provides a welcoming and confident environment for children aged 2 to 4 years. 30pm, except for bank holidays and a week at Christmas, the nursery focuses on a curriculum that encourages exploration and investigation, as highlighted in its 'Good' Ofsted rating from May 2022.
Children arrive happy and are encouraged to be independent, with pre-schoolers knowing their routines and making choices about their play, whether indoors or outdoors. Two-year-olds develop their physical skills by climbing ramps and pedalling tricycles in the garden.
The nursery places a strong emphasis on language development, with staff using narratives and repeating words to help children with pronunciation. The team is dedicated to supporting children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, with some staff trained in sign language to enhance communication.
Outdoor learning is a key feature, with children regularly visiting local woodlands and parks to learn about nature, and even making choices about indoor or outdoor play. Parents have expressed high satisfaction with the service provided, and the nursery maintains strong partnerships with families.

SEND provision
Some staff have recently attended training to develop using sign language in the nursery. This is to help all children to communicate further, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
Outdoor space
Pre-school children decide whether to play inside or outside. Two-year-old children climb up and down ramps and pedal tricycles around the garden safely. Staff take children into the local woodlands and the park to feed the ducks so the children can learn about nature.

My son has been at Amy’s nursery since he was 3. They were fantastic with him. He really enjoyed going. Even now at 8 he loves going to there holiday club they make sure every day is packed full of fun activities. My son has a terminal illness and when I needed help and support with getting a diagnosis Amy and Rachel helped me in every single way and even now give me and my son full support. Would highly recommend the nursery to anyone.

My daughter hated the school, she cried so much not to go. She never told me what happened there, but once she hit her head and they didn't even notify me, she told me, later on, that she was with a headache and the reason why. I had to sort another holiday club for her, I paid for several days that my daughter didn't go and they don't want to refund me. Amy is a great professional to get new contracts and payments, but not for complaints. For the price, I expected more.

Amy is the owner of Alvaston achievers. She is absolutely amazing. I brought both my children. Amy was able to give us space at short notice, my son is autistic Amy recognised he has extra needs. She helped support my family with looking for a nursery that can help cater to his needs. She truly does this job because she cares about children. I know my daughter will grow and learn in a great environment with Alvaston achievers! The name of the nursery is a true relation of what they offer :D

Just thought I would add at the start of this review that Amy the manager is making sure no one can see reviews and is trying to silence me. ALVASTON ACHIEVERS CURRENTLY HAVE OFSTED INVOLVED DUE TO POOR MANAGEMENT, THEY HAVE KICKED MY BOYS OUT OF NURSERY FOR CONTACTING THEM. It has also come to light that they lie about where your children’s accidents happen and what happened and don’t let your children finish lunch if being too slow… I would not send your children here at all. The management is all over the place. They can’t send invoices on time and then when they mess up they blame you. They cant be bothered to tell you when your child is getting a new key worker, I have contacted ofsted about the management and they have now kicked my boys out for having my say. Such a rubbish nursery with management that isn’t ever present until it comes down to wanting money. Would avoid at all costs and hopefully ofsted change management.
