Appletrees Child Care Ltd, located in Flamstead, St. Albans, provides a nurturing and engaging environment for children aged 0-10 years. Registered in 2018, the nursery operates year-round, closing only for two weeks at Christmas, with sessions running from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm.

The curriculum focuses on developing a strong understanding of similarities and differences, promoting cultural awareness through activities like creating diva lamps for Diwali, and teaching essential life skills such as dental hygiene.
Staff are skilled at adapting their teaching to support individual needs, including those of children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, ensuring all children make good progress.

Inclusion & environment
All children make good progress, and those with special educational needs and/or disabilities receive appropriate support. Staff interact positively with children and adapt their teaching to meet their needs, using simple language so children can make choices independently. Staff meet with parents to discuss children's needs, set appropriate learning targets, and review them regularly. Managers attend meetings with professionals and share relevant information with school staff to help children transition smoothly.
Children and parents are actively involved in making decisions about the setting, and children enjoy choosing resources from catalogues for the new allotment patch.
My daughter has been at Apple trees since she was 11 months old and is now in the pre-school. She absolutely loves the nursery and is thriving! As parents, we have been so impressed with the nursery, the staff in each room have been incredible and always go above and beyond to provide the children with the best experience and care. The activities and events they plan are always children led and fun, with the children being provided lots of exciting opportunities which I don’t feel you would get at every Nursery. The food choices are also well balanced and healthy and we love how they use the allotment to pick their own vegetables and teach the children about where their food comes from.We can’t recommend the nursery highly enough and look forward to our youngest starting there in September!

Amazing nursery. My son has been attending for almost 2 years and he absolutely loves it. Staff is excellent, every week is packed with fun activities to do, parents get a daily report on their kid(s) and the children are being taught great life values. I’m so grateful my son is getting the best start in life thanks to all the lovely ladies working there.
