Children are well motivated to learn, and staff make good use of daily routines to help them practice their skills. All children progress from their starting points, and they feel happy, relaxed, and secure in the care of the staff. Staff are positive role models and have high expectations for children's behaviour.

The manager and staff prioritise children's safety and complete effective risk assessments.

How they support every child

SEND provision

All children progress from their starting points, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Staff are swift to identify where children need additional support and make timely referrals, so that children with SEND receive the help they need from outside professionals. The special educational needs coordinator spoke to the inspector about how they support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities.

Outdoor space

The manager is enhancing children's outdoor learning. Staff involve children in the risk assessment, such as completing the garden checks together.

Banana Moon has been an amazing nursery for our daughter. The staff are warm, thoughtful and passionate about the children’s development. She developed socially, emotionally and academically thanks to the structured yet fun learning environment. She loved the activities, outdoor space and creative learning. We also appreciated the regular updates, photos and honest communication. She gained confidence, independence and so many new skills while being there. Thank you to the entire team! We couldn’t have asked for a better nursery experience.

I have recently started sending my daughter to Banana Moon Nursery in Mere Green and I have been really impressed with the staff and organisation of the nursery. The staff in particular are lovely and really considerate and have helped us both settle into this new routine! They are open for longer than other nurseries which is great for my husband and I as we work long hours. I would definitely recommend this place.

My son has been going to banana moon in mere green since he was a baby. He is doing very well as he gets older. The staff are all friendly and help my son achieve. Reliable nursery.
