Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Support for children who may have special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) is good. The nursery has a trained SEND member of staff who regularly liaises with external agencies. They support parents with any referrals and put a target plan in place to help close any gaps in learning. Children are respectful and kind to each other and ensure everyone has a turn, including their friends with SEND who need that extra support.

Outdoor space

Children enjoy lots of fresh air outdoors and are supported to take risks in a safe and controlled way. Currently, the nursery uses the school playground and fields, but this is restricted to certain times, and they operate free flow from Indoors to outdoors from a small outdoor space. Leaders want to enhance the outdoor provision to allow more space for the curriculum to always be delivered, especially for those children who prefer to learn outdoors.

We couldn’t be happier with the care and support our child receives at this nursery. From the very beginning, the staff have been warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. It’s clear that they genuinely care about the children and are passionate about what they do. The environment is safe, clean, and full of engaging activities that support learning and development. We’ve seen such wonderful progress in my child’s confidence, social skills, and communication since starting here. The team keeps us regularly updated with photos, reports, and feedback, which gives us great peace of mind. Highly recommend! The girls also make me feel comfortable when I’m messaging on the family app and asking so many questions! X

My daughter really enjoys nursery and is thriving at Sutton Ducklings. When I initially visited, I was shown around by the Deputy Manager and was very impressed by the amount of time she gave me and the way she listened and wanted to understand what was important to me. My daughter has a lovely key worker, who gives detailed information each week on her activities and progress. The Manager is very friendly and approachable; she ensures the nursery is well run, with a focus on the needs of each individual child. All the staff are friendly and have a patient and welcoming attitude towards the children. I am very happy with my daughter’s care and feel she is in a safe and fun environment.

This nursery has loads to offer and the staff are absolutely wonderful. Ducklings mere green are very good at engaging with parents and keeping parents updated. It’s brilliant that they work so closely with the school too, my toddler is thriving off these experiences . My daughter is loving her time with ducklings and it makes me feel reassured knowing that she has a key person. I have regular updates on the Famly app too. Wonderful nursery, wonderful staff

My daughter has been attending this nursery since September 2024, and it was truly the best decision we could have made for her. What sets this team apart is their incredible, proactive approach to inclusion. As a parent of a child with additional needs, finding a setting that doesn't just "manage" care but truly advocates for your child is life-changing. The staff are exceptionally knowledgeable and have been a vital support system for our family. They go above and beyond to provide tailored, one-to-one attention and work seamlessly with external professionals to ensure she has everything she needs to flourish. It is such a relief to have her in a place where the educators are so patient, skilled, and committed to helping every child reach their full potential at their own pace. Since starting here, her confidence has soared, and she runs in with a smile every morning. If you are looking for a nursery that offers a nurturing environment, excellent communication, and a team that will truly be in your corner, I cannot recommend them enough!

I’ve had an absolutely wonderful experience here with my son. As he is very young and quite shy, I was naturally nervous about leaving him, but I can honestly say that we have both felt incredibly welcomed. From the settling-in sessions to the regular updates through the nursery app, I feel reassured and confident that my little boy is not only enjoying a fantastic start to his learning journey but is also experiencing a true sense of family within the setting.
