Inclusion & environment
Staff put very well-targeted plans in place for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). They know children and their needs extremely well and refer them swiftly to outside professionals when needed. They are tenacious in ensuring that children receive the right support to help them meet their full potential, resulting in excellent progress from their initial starting points.
Children take great delight in growing fruit and vegetables in the nursery garden and talk with authority about how they have helped their pumpkins to grow. The manager has made links with the local community to develop the garden area, contributing to highly exciting outdoor areas where children play.
We recently had to leave Barnowls due to relocating. As a family we feel very sad about this. Our girls have started a new nursery and sadly it doesn’t come close to Barnowls. Barnowls looked after two of our daughters. I’ve found our eldest leaving the hardest. She didn’t get to leave Eagles with all of her little friends. The girls absolutely loved nursery and all the staff have always been so kind, caring and supportive to our family. They looked after the girls so well. Welcoming, like a home from home, a little family to go to, with lots of fun, lots of learning and the loveliest of outdoor space too. It has to be said that the Eagles room is outstanding. Our eldest has thrived since she has been in this class her confidence has come on leaps and bounds and they have helped so much in shaping her into a happy, bright little girl. They’ve done such an amazing job getting her ready for school. On leaving I was given books of what our daughter had been up to so much detail, day be day. I couldn’t believe that this had been done for every child. So much care. It made them leaving even more sad. A special thank you to Emma - a truly exceptional teacher & key worker. We can’t thank you enough for all you have done. We will miss you greatly. Thank you to all at Barnowls. Such a special bunch! x 💖
