About this day nursery

Barts Busy Bees is a community-focused, family-operated nursery established in 2011, dedicated to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 9 months up to five years old. They differentiate themselves through superior staff-to-child ratios, ensuring personalised attention for each child.

The nursery prides itself on an inclusive atmosphere, catering to diverse needs, and a passionate team committed to early childhood education. They follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, integrating a wide range of resources and outdoor play, regardless of weather conditions.

Barts Busy Bees operates alongside a sister nursery, Merry-Go-Round, both striving to offer an exceptional preschool experience focused on holistic development, encompassing not just academic learning but also social values like tolerance, community, and empathy. The nursery emphasises that staying with them rather than transitioning to a school nursery does not negatively impact a child's chances of securing a school place, as these decisions are made by the Local Authority.

Absolutely amazed and grateful for my daughters time at Barts Bees. I had reservations about leaving my daughter anywhere at first as she was a very clingy little girl who had never been away from me. Yet literally from our first visit at Barts Bees she was happy and confident enough to go and play with the incredible staff members who made her feel safe and secure. I've watched her blossom into an outgoing and confident little girl who can now happily make friends by herself not just at nursery but out in the wider community. She interacts with adults, as well as children, as she spends time at Barts Bees with people who value and listen to her. They have supported her with her development in all areas and we have seen her go from strength to strength. She is always very happy to go into nursery as there is a wide range of activities for her to get involved with which support and underpin her learning and development. We have received regular feedback on how she is getting on through an app which is updated regularly with photos and explanations around what they have done that day. Plus the face to face interaction when dropping off and picking up. Barts Bees are always thinking one step ahead in how they can help prepare your child for their next challenge whether that be school nursery or even reception year. At Barts Bees you know they are getting the best start! My eldest children started off their nursery years with Lorna about 16yrs ago and when we heard she was manager at Barts Bees there was nowhere else we would trust to send our youngest daughter. We are so sad to be leaving soon but we would 100% recommend Barts Bees as a safe, inclusive and engaging environment for your little ones to start their learning journey. Thank you all at Barts Bees

BBBs are the best nursery there could possibly be. Apart from extensive care for the kids, the staff are really amazing at assuring parents and making sure that not only are all your questions answered, but that your worries are addressed and taken into consideration. When searching for the best place for our eldest back in November, I knew right away this was it. I’d like to thank the whole staff for being such amazing role models for the little ones, and also for being great human beings in general. You can truly see they love what they’re doing and it’s not just “a job”. Thank you! I recommend you guys with all my heart to anyone who listens!

Our children have thrived at Busy Bees, with their kind, caring and very knowledgeable staff and an extensive range of toys and resources. Our children are always coming home with new found independence and life skills as well as learning skills in preparation for School such as Mathematics, understanding the world and art and design and we are always up to date with their progress via the online portal, Tapestry. Thank you for everything Lorna and the team, you are a big part of our lives and I don’t know what we would do without you!

Very caring and supportive staff. My child needs extra support with his communication skills and they are handling it very professionally. Initially he was reluctant going to nursery but now he waits for it. The overall environment is great for a child’s development.
