Bridge House Day Nursery, located in Keighley, West Yorkshire, provides childcare for children aged 0-4 years. Registered in 2007, the nursery operates Monday to Friday, all year round, with sessions from 7 am to 6 pm.
The dedicated team of 14 childcare staff includes 11 who hold appropriate early years qualifications at level 3 or above. The nursery focuses on developing children's independence skills, with babies learning to feed themselves and toddlers encouraged to put on their coats and pour their own drinks.
Older children are given opportunities to use a knife for buttering crackers and help serve food. The curriculum is ambitious and well-planned, aiming to prepare all children for their transition to school.
The learning environment is organised to encourage exploration and inquisitiveness, fostering good behaviour and concentration. Children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) are well-supported, with staff working closely with parents and external agencies, coordinated by a SENCo, to ensure individual needs are met and a consistent approach to learning is maintained.
Parents are kept informed about their child's day and progress through an online app and parent meetings, ensuring they feel well-informed about their child's development. The nursery also provides funded early education for two, three, and four-year-old children.
Our ethos
Bridge House Day Nursery adheres to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) programme, focusing on fostering children's health, safety, enjoyment, achievement, positive contributions, and economic well-being.
