About this day nursery

Bright Gems Nursery offers a nurturing and stimulating environment across its locations in Tottenham Hale, South Tottenham, and a forthcoming branch in White Hart Lane, set to open in September 2025. The day nursery is dedicated to fostering each child's individual growth and passions through a bespoke learning experience, preparing them for future life.

The establishment aims to create a familiar and comfortable "home-from-home" atmosphere, encouraging enjoyment in learning, curiosity, and ensuring every child feels valued. Bright Gems Nursery prides itself on an open admissions policy, welcoming children aged 3 months to 5 years, with priority given to families seeking full-time care (4-5 days per week).

They recommend a minimum attendance of four full days to help children settle into the day nursery routine. The nursery operates with an Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Policy, ensuring that all children and families are welcomed irrespective of gender, race, disability, religion, or belief.

They have robust systems for identifying and supporting children with additional needs early on, including access to a dedicated Speech and Language Specialist funded by the nursery, and participation in the LEEP screening programme in Haringey. This proactive and collaborative approach, involving regular observations and assessments, ensures tailored learning experiences and targeted support plans developed in partnership with parents and external professionals.

Furthermore, Bright Gems Nursery believes in strong family involvement in learning, providing opportunities for parents to engage in shared activities and take-home ideas to reinforce key skills and celebrate achievements, extending learning beyond the nursery setting. They emphasise hands-on learning through creative activities to build creative problem-solving skills.

Our ethos

At Bright Gems Nursery, we provide a nurturing, inspiring environment where children can grow, explore, and thrive. We aim to create a home-from-home environment for both children and families, where learning is fun, curiosity is encouraged, and every child feels valued. While our programmes encourage your little ones to grow into confident, independent learners, we also believe that learning is strongest when families are involved.

What it's like

Babies and young children are happy and eagerly enjoy exploring their surroundings, developing secure bonds with staff and confidently sharing their thoughts and ideas. Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities are fully included in routines and learning. Leaders adapt teaching using specialist guidance, individual plans, and small-group interventions to target communication and physical skills. Appropriate and timely referrals to other agencies, including the local authority, are made when needed.

Outdoor space

Children show skilful balancing and coordination using the outdoor equipment and learn to care for the environment by watering flowers, sweeping, and wiping tables. They also learn about nature by planting seeds in the garden or on regular walks to the local park.

EAL / language support

Children who speak other languages at home are well-supported, with staff learning their language and using signing and visual aids to further develop communication and speech. Parents are invited to read stories or cook food from their home countries, and staff share vocabulary in different languages, which develops children's confidence and knowledge of the world.
