Bright Horizons Barford Day Nursery and Preschool provides a nurturing and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to grow and develop. Central to their philosophy is 'The Nurture Approach', which integrates learning with emotional well-being, supported by dedicated and skilled practitioners.
The nursery focuses on creating a safe and loving atmosphere where children can explore, learn and build strong attachments, offering free settling-in sessions for new families to ease the transition. These sessions allow children and parents to become familiar with the nursery and its team, fostering a 'triangle of trust' between the key person, child, and parent.
The curriculum, known as 'Bright Beginnings', encompasses five key learning areas, incorporating practical and life skills through various activities. The nursery also emphasises outdoor adventures, with provisions for outdoor spaces, Forest School, and Eco-Schools programmes.
Mealtimes are a significant part of the day, with freshly prepared food, and the team is committed to supporting families with childcare funding options. With decades of experience and a network of over 300 nurseries, Bright Horizons aims to provide inspiring learning experiences and a bright future for the children in their care.

Inspector highlights
Verbatim quotes recorded in the Ofsted inspection
Parents speak very highly of the nursery and the exciting and fun-filled experiences that children receive.
Parents comment on the incredible progress their children are making and they say that they feel very involved in their children's learning.
Inclusion & environment
All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, make exceptional progress in their development. Staff know how to adapt learning and play opportunities effectively to meet children's individual needs. The special educational needs coordinator is passionate about her role, working closely with staff, parents and external professionals to support children's development.
Children display high levels of curiosity and a sense of wonder as they hunt for bugs with magnifying glasses in the outdoor garden. Children spend large amounts of their time learning and playing outside, extending their physical skills as they manage their own risk when climbing, manoeuvring and negotiating different obstacles.
Be careful, they take your money if you want to know if they have a place for your child (register and put them on a waiting list). They tell you this would be refundable if you don't get a space. What they don't tell you is that you will be waiting for months to know if your child has a space, leaving you in complete limbo. We couldn't keep waiting with no certainty, so we had to find another nursery. Then they refused to give our money back. With how busy the market is, it's so sad they have such a cheap way to make money. When parents with young children are already struggling financially. I also know of someone who had booked a place and close to the start date didn't get any replies and had to look for an alternative.
Read on GoogleBright Horizons Barford is full of incredible people who genuinely care about the children they look after and the difference they make in their lives. I couldn't recommend any other nursery higher!
