Bright Horizons operates around 300 nurseries and preschools across the UK, drawing on extensive experience to provide comprehensive childcare solutions. The organisation is committed to offering a nurturing environment where dedicated practitioners support children's learning and emotional well-being.
Their "Nurture Approach" is central to their ethos, integrating learning with emotional development to foster healthy, happy children who can reach their full potential. They offer a "Bright Beginnings Curriculum" which focuses on five key learning areas, incorporating practical and life skills through engaging activities.
Mealtimes are a priority, with freshly prepared food and careful allergy management. Bright Horizons also emphasises outdoor learning through spaces like Forest Schools and participation in the Eco-Schools programme.
The nursery aims to create a smooth transition for new children and families through non-chargeable settling-in sessions, starting up to six weeks before a child's official start date, which are tailored to individual needs and focus on building strong attachments with a dedicated Key Person. They work in partnership with parents, encouraging them to share details about their child's routines, preferences, and comforting items to ensure a personalised and supportive start to nursery life.

What it's like
Children arrive at the nursery and happily say goodbye to their carers, settling quickly into a warm, welcoming environment with staff support. Children show that they feel secure and form strong and positive relationships with staff, for example, young babies indicate they would like a cuddle when they require some extra comfort. Children's behaviour and attitudes are good and they receive good individual support through an effective key-person system.

Inclusion & environment
Children enjoy spending time outside in the nursery's roof terrace, running around happily and making towers with bricks. Staff have redeveloped the roof terrace, increasing opportunities for outdoor play.
Both of our sons go here two days a week and it’s wonderful. The staff are so friendly and approachable. It’s well run and the management are always available to talk to you. The nursery is always clean and maintained well. Both my toddler and baby are well looked after, they use the app to update all their daily activities, food intake, toilets tips, cream applied, photos of the day ect, the app makes it easy to communicate with the team and send photos of family events for the children to share with their friends. On the occasions where they have needed to contact me they have always been very polite and professional. They are not the type of nursery that regularly send your child home because of the continuous viral infections children get and they understand that you have to work too. They boys always have the best time and are so excited to tell us about their day and all the things they have done. Would recommend!
Read on GoogleI cannot recommend this nursery enough. My daughter has been in the baby room for the past few months, and she has come on heaps and bounds. As a mother of a particularly clingy child (at least at first), I have been impressed at how the key worker managed this effectively - my child was made to feel safe and welcome from day one, and has been encouraged to get involved in a raft of various planned activities - all have of which have been excellent for our child's development. The staff are professional, attentive, and are generally very good with children. We are provided with regular updates on any issues and on our child's progress. It is clear that the staff genuinely care about the children as individuals, and encourage them to flourish. There is a real sense of community here, and some of the staff have worked at the nursery for a number of years, which indicates it is a good place to work. The food is nutritious, varied, and the menu is shared in advance. Very pleased!
Read on GoogleMy son was with Bright Horizon Crofton Nursery from 2018 to 2019. It was a great experience for him, the staffs were very friendly and patient. He loved the foods and snacks provided by here. The nursery has a small playground located on the roof. The rooms were very clean and well organised. In the summer of 2019, the nursery held a graduation ceremony at a Church.
Read on GoogleWe moved house and therefore nurseries and we couldn't be happier. Our son's key worker is heavily invested in their development, they are kind, compassionate, understanding and just a lovely bunch of people. Massive shout out to Anthony, Taylor, Frankie and Julie. Our child can't stop talking about them enough when he's not in nursery
Read on GoogleMy daughter started here at 11 months and absolutely loves it. The staff are caring professionals and go out of their way to make it a welcoming and nurturing environment.
