About this day nursery

Orpington Day Nursery provides care for children aged 3 months to 5 years, operating year-round with the exception of Christmas and public holidays, from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. The nursery is a family-run establishment with a focus on affordability and a central location with good transport links.

They prioritise a nurturing environment where children feel secure and content, ensuring parents have peace of mind regarding the quality of care. The nursery emphasises collaboration with parents, actively seeking and valuing their input.

The facility is fully air-conditioned for comfort and is spread across two adjacent sites: one for children aged 0-2 years and the other for children aged 2 years and above. Both sites offer access to a spacious and secure outdoor garden.

Children receive three freshly prepared meals daily, cooked on-site by a qualified cook, with all dietary needs accommodated. Two snacks and fresh drinking water are also provided throughout the day.

The nursery utilises a dedicated and secure parents app to provide real-time updates on children's activities, meals, and photos. Fees are calculated on a 51-week year basis, and a refundable deposit of £175 per family is required, along with a £20 administration fee upon registration, which includes a nursery T-shirt and bag.

Inclusion & environment

How they support every child

SEND provision

Staff adapt their teaching and use visual cards to communicate with children with speech and language delay. These strategies ensure that all children, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), make good progress in their communication and language development. The staff work closely with parents and other professionals to implement agreed strategies to ensure that children with SEND can access the curriculum to the best of their abilities.

Outdoor space

Children have fewer opportunities to engage in robust physical play to take age- appropriate risks to further build on their gross motor development.

I highly recommend this nursery! Staff and children form great bonds and you can clearly see how much staff love working with children. I'm very impressed with the range of activities they do. There is a focus on crafts, reading and outdoor play. There are different themes each week, such as focusing on different holiday, learning about different cultures, or reading particular books. I am truly grateful to everyone that works here and makes it a special place for my child

What can I say but it's like they are part of the family! My first son attended the nursery for 4 years until he started school, and my youngest son has been at nursery for just over 2 years. The bond they have with all the staff is fantastic and love all the activities they do with the kids, I love seeing the photos and updates. The home cooked food they get every day is balanced and nutritious. They also have a really great program for early learning to prepare them for school. I'll be sad when my littlest one leaves, maybe I should have another?! :)

My son went for 4 years and now my daughter is already more than a year at Orpington Day nursery since she was 1 years old and will leave it just before her reception. They both loved to go there, the teachers are all in general very good and I can see good connection with the children. I like the activities they use to do, and time to time I see some of the pictures in parent zone.Communication with the manager is excellent and this is very important. Also Sarah (the owner) is always there for you and you feel her like a family. Thank you Orpington day nursery for looking after my kids.

All four of our children have attended Orpington day nursery over the past 7 years. Our two youngest still go there and I wouldn’t consider anywhere else to look after my children. The nursery is warm, caring, reliable, and has a home to home feel. They provide educational activities to keep the children entertained and all the food is cooked from scratch to ensure the children eat a healthy varied diet. I cant thank Sarah and the team enough for all their hard work. They have made those first days of settling my children in to a new environment stress free and shown such compassion caring for my children. A special thank you to Dawn and Judy, my eldest two have lots of fond memories being cared by both of you.

Had my daughter at the nursery for 1.5 years and the place is amazing. My little one really developed during her time so far. Great app that tracks her key points throughout the day too. In addition the staff are amazing. Everyone there is an absolute delight to deal with. Highly recommended.
