Bright Horizons operates over 300 nurseries and preschools across the UK, offering comprehensive childcare solutions with a focus on holistic child development. The nursery group emphasises its proprietary 'Nurture Approach,' a framework designed to foster emotional well-being and learning from infancy through preschool.
This approach integrates five key learning areas into daily activities, promoting practical and life skills. The organisation is committed to providing a safe and stimulating environment, highlighted by its high Ofsted ratings and a strong focus on outdoor adventures, including Forest School and Eco-Schools programmes.
Bright Horizons also supports families through various childcare funding options, offering guidance on government schemes like tax-free childcare and funded hours. They prioritise a smooth transition for children and parents into nursery life with non-chargeable 'Settling In Sessions' that can commence up to six weeks before a child's official start date, focusing on building trust and familiarity between the child, parents, and their dedicated Key Person.
Food at the nurseries is freshly prepared, with careful attention to allergies and nutrition, reinforcing their commitment to children's overall health and development.

Inclusion & environment
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities have their needs met well. Staff work effectively with other professionals to make suitable adaptations, such as using visual timetables and sign language, to ensure children can access the curriculum and make progress.
Children show excitement about exploring the outdoor garden. They benefit from a range of activities, indoors and outdoors, that support their physical development, such as very young children learning to navigate steps and slides and older children enjoying scooters and tricycles.
Didcot Bright Horizons is an excellent nursery and I would recommend it to anyone looking for childcare for their child. Firstly, the staff are fantastic - they are really supportive and approachable in all matters. We have been with the nursery since 2019 and have had so many fantastic key people. They run engaging and varied activities and update you using the app. One of the big selling points for us was the food - it is amazing the things they manage to feed our child who would refuse an oddly shaped biscuit at home. From fish pie to chickpea curry, the menu is cooked on site and a big hit with our little one. The biggest downside is the cost; however, there are things that really make up for this (in addition to the people and food). Everything is provided so all we need to do is drop the little one off and they can be in from 0730 to 1830 if needed. Finally, the fabric of the nursery is great - the outside and inside are modern and well-maintained. Both children love, and have loved, attending here and are excited to go back every day.
