Inclusion & environment
All children make good progress in their learning, including those who require additional support. Staff know the children well. Staff build on what children already know and what interests them, to extend their learning further.
Children join in well-organised group activities, such as a walk to the local woods. The inspector observed the quality of education being provided indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact that this was having on children's learning.
We have been part of the Bright Horizons Epping family for 4 years, and now our son is moving into primary school we have the absolute pleasure of seeing our youngest son move up through the nursery too. The staff at the nursery have a real impact on our children and we as parents have also felt this too. All staff are warm and kind and have worked with us over the years to do the best for us and our family in their setting. The children have an excellent choice of meals, activities and lots of lovely outdoor time. The staff through the whole nursery are invested in all children, not just their own class, and this has meant my sons have had lots and lots of exposure and attention to a variety of wonderful nursery staff. I am pleased that we chose bright horizons Epping and would recommend it to any other parents in the area.
Read on GoogleI was horrified that after the nursery director made us go through the signing of several forms then decided that they don't have time to support my son with nuts and fish allergy. We are still traumatised that such a thing could still happen. I just hope she and her family are perfect with no one with issues needing care
Read on GoogleMy son has been attending since he turned one and is due to start reception next year. I can’t praise Bright Horizons enough. The assistants and managers always give him such a warm welcome and everyone greets him by name, including the lovely kitchen staff! There is a good ratio of carers per child and each room is beautifully designed for the age group. Staff carefully document his progress and it is lovely to look back through his development journey, including photos. Now the new app allows me to follow his day. I immediately warmed to the building - it is perfect for young children with large windows, allowing plenty of light through. The playground is secure but doesn’t feel at all ‘penned in’. The forest is just across the road and the children enjoy carefully coordinated adventures into the forest and local park. My concern when my son joined was his cautious character around strangers and other children, but staff are very accommodating to this and he is thriving as a pre-schooler now - can’t wait to go in! I was also worried about our struggles in getting him to nap independently but again, staff were happy to provide all the hugs and support required. I was shocked to find he would fall asleep easily in the little floor beds, with little more than a back rub and not a whinge! I never did get the hang of it myself.
Read on GoogleOur son has been at Bright Horizons Epping for 4 years - started when he was 9 months old and just left to start school. Our younger son is 2 and still attends. Carole (our nursery manager) runs a fantastic team. Everything is focussed on giving our little ones the best start in life - there is a great educational focus and every single key worker genuinely cares about our kids! We have been so lucky to be part of the Epping BH family.
Read on GoogleI attended a ‘showaround’ at the Nursery as I was looking to register my son for next year. On arrival I was greeted by a lady who checked my ID and signed me in. As we were waiting for the member of staff to show me round, this lady looked at me whilst I was holding my son on my hip and asked me ‘are you expecting another?’. Insinuating that I looked pregnant. I said no, and she said ‘oh’. Not a great start to say the least. The nursery was ok, I’ve seen a lot better. I can’t comment on the other members of staff but you would think people working in childcare would know not to ask a lady if she’s pregnant. So offensive and rude, I won’t be leaving my child in the care of such manners, or lack of.
