Bright Horizons North Baddesley Day Nursery and Preschool provides a nurturing and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to flourish. With a focus on individualised care, the nursery prioritises the emotional well-being and development of each child through its unique Nurture Approach.
This philosophy emphasises the importance of strong relationships, particularly with a dedicated Key Person, to ensure children feel secure, loved, and confident to explore and learn. The nursery offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to build practical and life skills, incorporating outdoor adventures and a strong focus on healthy food and mealtimes.
The setting aims to create a seamless transition for children and families, offering non-chargeable settling-in sessions to help everyone become familiar with the nursery environment and staff. "Parents say they are very happy with the care their children receive while in the setting."
Inclusion & environment
Staff have a good knowledge of children's needs and work closely with parents to support those children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). However, at times, staff are not confident in promptly implementing strategies to support children in regulating their emotions, which means the needs of some children with SEND are not consistently met in a timely manner.
Staff support pre-school children to explore large cardboard boxes in the outside area, using chalks to draw on the boxes and on the ground. Children choose whether to play indoors or outside, and staff offer a wide range of activities for them to engage in.
