Verbatim quotes recorded in the Ofsted inspection
"Parents are very complimentary about the setting and comment that their children are happy and settled."
Inclusion & environment
The setting is fully inclusive, with strong and trusting relationships between staff and children. There is a clear focus on supporting children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). Staff work closely with parents and other professionals to ensure that children get the support they need. Leaders use additional funding for children effectively, to provide resources which engage and enhance their learning. This helps children with SEND to make good progress from their starting points in development.
Children have daily opportunities to exercise in the large garden and take part in movement and music sessions.
We couldn’t be happier with Salcombe Bright Horizons Nursery. My daughter absolutely loves going there. She has always greeted with so much warmth and care from the staff, especially Emma who from day one played the biggest role in settling in to nursery. The teachers are attentive, patient, and truly dedicated to the children’s wellbeing and development. The activities are creative, engaging, and perfectly suited for her age, and we’ve noticed so much growth in her confidence, social skills, and learning.
Read on GoogleRebecca, Laura F, Kiara and Ikraam are incredible assets to Bright Horizons- specifically the baby room. Being a first time parent I was naturally skeptical/ hesitant about leaving my child here and in some ways a little guilty. But the team have been nothing but nurturing, kind and keen to help develop my child. She has been at Salcombe for almost a month now, and I can already see an acceleration in her development specifically supporting her speech (phonetics) and coordination using her cutlery at dinner times. She has also become a lot more confident and independent within herself. I sincerely hope Bright Horizons have a recognition scheme for their employees in place when receiving positive feedback. Thank you team!
Read on GoogleHome away from home - this is what Salcombe meant for my son. Extremely caring, loving and great with SEN support. My son built a very special bond with his key persons Fouzia and Emma. The nursery has supported us through out the nursery/preschool SEN journey with regular progress updates, highly recommend this nursery for its brilliant staff.
Read on GoogleMy son thoroughly enjoys attending this nursery. Caring, lovely and attentive staff. I am able to leave my child in their care with complete peace of mind.
Read on GoogleMy boy was 4 and Autistic. We had no clue about the educational system in the country and decided to send him to Salcombe instead of the regular 4 year old admission in reception. He used to go to another nursery in Bush hill park, but none of the "promised" SALT assessment was done there or any advice was given to us regarding his further assessment. We had to move to Southgate and chose to send him to BH Salcombe preschool as we clearly knew he was Autistic and needed further help. We received 100% advice and information from there regarding application for EHCP, disability allowance, help and support groups for autistic children etc. My son's key worker was Tina and she was exceptional in contributing to his care and supporting me throughout. I cannot thank her enough. Tina helped me with EHCP application, DLA application and many other support systems and groups for Autistic carers and parents. As was every other staff member including Lucia, Elsa and all other staff there. I may not remember all your names, but your faces are embedded in my heart foever. Thank you all for taking in and looking after our Adi. I am 100% sure Adi loved each and every one of you and the children. The kids were so kind and considerate of Adi, which was so great to see. I would 100% recommend BH Salcombe to anyone looking for a good place for their little ones.
