How they support every child

SEND provision

All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), make good progress through the well-planned and sequenced curriculum. The SEND coordinator works in partnership with outside agencies and professionals to ensure that these children have the right support. Adults are very knowledgeable about different teaching strategies to support children with SEND, meaning they can access all areas of the curriculum and will be ready for the next stage of education.

Outdoor space

All children have lots of opportunities to explore and learn in the gardens. Some pre-school children walk carefully, and some sit on their bottoms to come downstairs as they go to the garden.

Our little girl (2) literally runs in without looking at me or saying goodbye 😂 and then runs out to me at the end of the day and gives me a big cuddle and is all happy 🩷 She’s been attending the setting since she was around 10 months old. I feel like the staff support her personality type and they really know her and the activities they do are obviously super interesting to the little ones (and not what we’d usually do at home). From a logistical standpoint, they are really flexible. For example, I was recently interviewing for a new job and they were happy to have little one on short notice for 1-2 hours at a time to help me out- which meant I was able to secure a new job! Can’t praise them enough and feel grateful that my little girl goes somewhere that she’s taken care of so well 🥰

My son has been attending Bright eyes in St Blazey for a year now. He initially started at another local nursery and didn’t get on very well, I was quite anxious about him starting at a new nursery but it was the best decision we made as a family. Every member of staff is amazing, the communication is great and we get regular updates which really puts my mind at ease. My little boy has built incredible relationships with the staff (Vicky inparticular) She welcomes him into the nursery with open arms as he can be a little anxious about the initial arrival. The setting is very homely and cosy. He enjoys his nursery days and has made some great friendships. The creativity of the activities is incredible, things you wouldn’t usually think of playing with at home are very much enjoyed by all the children. I cannot fault the St Blazey nursery at all, looking forward to the next year as my little boy moves up to the next room. Thank you for all you do :)

My toddler has been attending (St Blazey) since he was 9 months old (will be 2 in 2 weeks). Its been an amazing setting for him. All of the staff and very patient and understanding. I can tell that their priority is his safety, wellbeing and happiness. They really encourage him to explore his curiosity and his development has been very noticeable because of it. Staff are very reactive to messages and communicate well. I receive regular updates around milestones and development. I also recieve pictures and descriptions of their day which we love to go through and talk about together when he's home. I really can't recommend them enough. I have been nervous about sending him in, especially when he's feeling reluctant and upset. But I am quickly updated that he has settled and my mind is always put at ease.

Couldn’t fault Bright eyes at all, all the staff members are so lovely and friendly, any issues are always quickly resolved, no matter how big or small. I’ll be sad to see my LO leave as she has come out of her shell massively and always talks all about her friends and staff members :) she will miss it when she starts school. Always accommodating and keeps you in the loop.
