Bury Manor Pre-School, established in 2014, operates from a designated room within Dorset House School in Bury, West Sussex. Receiving an Outstanding rating from Ofsted in its latest inspection on 16th September 2022, the pre-school provides childcare for children aged 2 to 4 years.

The setting operates Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 3 pm during term time, and additionally for three weeks in August, three days a week from 10 am to 3 pm. Children at Bury Manor Pre-School are described as arriving extremely happy and excitable, settling quickly with the support of their key workers.

Communication and language skills are exceptionally well-supported, with staff actively listening, repeating words and sentences, and introducing new vocabulary to build strong foundations for future learning.

The pre-school also provides excellent support for children transitioning to other settings, ensuring a smooth move to full-time education. Parents consistently express their satisfaction, feeling fortunate that their children attend and appreciating the strong partnership with the pre-school, which keeps them well-informed of their child's progress.

What it's like

Children arrive at the pre-school extremely happy and excitable, and are very relaxed leaving their parents. Staff enthusiastically greet children and their key worker offers extra comfort to new children, helping them to settle quickly. Children's self-esteem is constantly boosted as they receive praise for their achievements, behaviour and manners.
