About this day nursery

30am to 6pm, for most of the year, provides childcare for children aged 0-4 years. This all-year setting received a "Good" rating from Ofsted in its latest inspection on 5th June 2023.

The nursery has a clear vision for children's learning and development with high expectations for all, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). The manager, who also serves as the special educational needs coordinator, ensures that staff, parents, and other agencies work together to provide early support for children with SEND, aiming to reduce developmental gaps.

The curriculum is ambitious, delivered in an inviting learning environment that has been recently refurbished and re-organised, creating spaces like a pre-school room suitable for yoga activities. Children engage in a variety of activities, from confidently sharing ideas in imaginative play to planting seeds and learning about growth and decay.

Outdoor learning is encouraged, with children energetically playing outdoors, including enjoying stories in a "hobbit house" in the garden, although staff deployment for outdoor play is an area for improvement. The staff are noted for their caring and patient approach, supporting children in developing independence, forming friendships, and building crucial skills for their future learning, such as concentration and early writing skills for babies.

How they support every child

SEND provision

There are high expectations for all children to make good progress, including children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). She works closely with staff, parents and other agencies to provide early support for children with SEND to reduce any gaps in their development.

Outdoor space

Children play energetically outdoors. They thoroughly enjoy listening to stories and looking at books, for example, while sitting in a 'hobbit house' in the garden. Staff deployment is occasionally impacting how staff organise activities for those who are awake, including having access to outdoor play alongside their friends.
