Inclusion & environment
Staff support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities using visual prompts and objects of reference. Additional funding, such as early years pupil premium and inclusion funding, is used wisely to support these children, ensuring they make progress from their individual starting points.
Babies excitedly welcome their friends as they come outside to play, gently patting them on the back to guide them to the play area.
The one star is for Claire and her amazing and genuine compassion for our child. Overall I am deeply unhappy with our experience at Busy Bees Ashton House, particularly with the management and overall standards of care and communication. There was a consistent inability from management and staff to explain what the children were actually doing on a daily basis. When asked about learning, staff regularly appeared to have no understanding of what the children were being taught, what the curriculum was, or how activities linked to development. This gave me very little confidence that meaningful learning was taking place. Safeguarding has been a major concern. For weeks, my child had unexplained scratches on the back of their neck. These were never raised or explained by staff. Disturbingly, the scratches stopped appearing immediately after I formally mentioned them, which raises serious questions. This should have been identified, recorded, and addressed proactively, not ignored. Communication about basic care was also unreliable. Staff repeatedly provided incorrect information about what my child had eaten, at times claiming food had been eaten when it clearly had not. On other occasions, they were unable to tell me whether my child had eaten at all. This level of inconsistency is unacceptable. The parent app was frequently inaccurate, with updates that did not reflect what had actually happened during the day. Milestone assessments were also incorrect and did not align with my child’s abilities or development, suggesting they were not being properly observed or reviewed. Overall, this setting demonstrated poor management, weak safeguarding practices, and a lack of accountability. I would not recommend Busy Bees Ashton House to other parents based on our experience
Read on GoogleGreat nursery with beautiful building and surrounding outdoor space located in the middle of the park away from busy roads. Plenty of great space outside for little ones to enjoy and play. Staff are friendly, very caring, professional and helpful. My daughter loves going to nursery and she’s always happy when I’m picking her up. She’s definitely developing into smart, confident happy little girl thanks to an amazing people who are looking after her. Daily updates, what she’s been eating and pictures from play time on an app reassure me that my daughter is being cared for and she’s having a good day. I would definitely recommend this nursery to everyone.
Read on GoogleMy boys have been attending Ashton House for 3 years. The staff have gone above and beyond for us, ensuring that my boys have grown into happy, healthy little boys. During the pandemic, I could relax knowing that my boys were safe and happy. The staff did a excellent job at keeping me informed into all aspects of their care and I couldn't be more thankful to them. I feel confident that both of my boys are ready for school and its all thanks to the staff at Ashton House.
