TicTots Day Nursery & Creche provides comprehensive childcare services across multiple locations in Preston and Bolton. The nursery focuses on supporting children's educational achievement, well-being, and safety through good attendance practices.

They offer various attendance options, including term-time only and 'spreading' of funded hours across 50 or 44 weeks to suit different family needs. TicTots actively supports government funding schemes such as the 15 hours for 9-23 month olds (from September 2024), 15 hours for eligible 2-year-olds, 15 universal hours for 3 and 4-year-olds, and the 30-hour extended entitlement.

Parents can choose from different ways to utilise their funded hours, including full days or spread sessions throughout the year. The nursery is closed on bank holidays and charges additional hours at a specified rate.

How they support every child

SEND provision

Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities and children in receipt of additional funding have their needs met well.

Outdoor space

The manager and staff team have strengthened the implementation of the curriculum in the toddler outdoor play area, which now provides opportunities to help further engage and excite children. The inspector observed the quality of education being provided, indoors and outdoors, and assessed the impact that this was having on children's learning.

EAL / language support

However, some children who speak English as an additional language are not developing a good grasp of English language. In addition to this, the opportunity to develop and use their home language in their play and learning is not further explored.
