Busy Bees Day Nursery at Southport, a childcare setting on non-domestic premises, provides a nurturing environment for children aged 0-4 years. 30am until 6pm, the nursery focuses on fostering a love for learning.
Leaders have successfully created a place where children arrive happy and eager to engage in play and learning opportunities. The dedicated staff act as positive role models, offering clear explanations and fostering kindness among the children.
The nursery proudly supports all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), ensuring they develop confidence in their abilities. The setting effectively identifies when additional help is needed and collaborates with partner agencies to implement support plans.
Outdoor learning is encouraged, with activities designed to develop both small and large muscle movements from an early age, such as babies pulling themselves up and children using tools and moulding dough. The curriculum also integrates songs, rhymes, and stories to build early literacy and communication skills, with staff engaging in meaningful discussions and encouraging the use of new words.
Mathematics is woven into everyday activities, helping children grasp early mathematical concepts through practical experiences like counting and describing objects. Furthermore, the nursery promotes healthy habits by teaching children about hand hygiene, oral health, and allergy awareness.

Inclusion & environment
All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), develop confidence in their own abilities. The setting identifies when children may need additional help and has effective links with partner agencies to put plans into place to support them.
Staff plan ways for children to develop their small- and large-muscle movements. Babies show determination as they pull themselves up on furniture to stand. They use tools, such as tweezers, with increasing control. Children press, squeeze and mould dough, which helps to develop the muscles in their hands needed for early writing.
