Busy Bees Day Nursery at Swindon Broome is a childcare setting for children aged 0-4 years, registered with Ofsted in 2004. " The setting operates Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
While children show some progress in communication, language, and physical development, and learn independence in self-care, there are inconsistencies in the delivery of the curriculum and staff deployment. This means some children do not form strong attachments with adults, affecting their sense of security and progress.
The nursery works with parents to monitor attendance and has clear behavioural boundaries. Leaders have developed a curriculum but not all staff have the knowledge to implement it effectively, especially for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) or those with English as an additional language (EAL).

Inclusion & environment
How they support every child
SEND provision
Children with barriers to their learning, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, do not consistently receive the support they need. Experienced staff meet their needs well, but newer staff are not always aware of targets or adjustments. Support plans are in place, but staff do not always understand how to implement them, and advice from parents and professionals is not used consistently.
Outdoor space
Children benefit from lots of fresh air and exercise and are eager to play outside. Older children enjoy practicing physical skills on an obstacle course in the garden, but the activity is often repeated, leading to boredom.
EAL / language support
The nursery identifies children who speak English as an additional language. At times, support is put in place, but this is not always prompt or consistent due to staffing changes and training.

I cannot recommend them enough, they are fantastic, my LB absolutley loves coming & gets so excited. He has come on so much which is 100% down to them. The girls are amazing & I always get sad when one of them leaves I am not sure who will be sadder when he has to leave me or him!

Though it has pleasant caring staff there are issues around control and monitoring of incidents between children and particularly in regards to monitoring special needs children aggression towards other children. This is being posted after failure by staff to carry out an action plan. Failure in enactment has resulted in further injuries to other children. Further escalation though official channels is now occurring.
