Tick Tock Playgroup, established in 1981, operates from a convenient location near the Ellendune shopping centre and Wroughton Infants School. The playgroup provides high-quality full-time and part-time childcare for children aged 4 months to 5 years, running 51 weeks a year, Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 6 pm (excluding bank holidays).
They also offer term-time contracts. The nursery focuses on supporting children's development through a child-centred approach, balancing adult-led and child-led activities within the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, including personal, social, emotional, communication, language, and physical development.
The playgroup emphasises outdoor activities to build confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a natural setting. Additionally, Tick Tock Playgroup runs a breakfast club for Wroughton Infants School pupils and a holiday club for children aged 4-11, offering engaging activities to promote mental and physical well-being.
Our ethos

What it's like
Overall, the quality of education provided for children requires improvement. Although children appear settled and happy to attend, they do not benefit from consistent high-quality interactions from the staff that extend their learning. In addition, some staff do not have the skills and knowledge they need to teach children and help them make the best possible progress.
Charges are billed on an hourly basis for any hours exceeding funded entitlements, with rates split by age band (under three and age three and older). Optional daily charges apply for breakfast, hot lunch, and snacks, or parents may choose to provide their own meals.

Inclusion & environment
Weaknesses in support for children aged two to three years with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), and staff's delivery of the curriculum, have an impact on the progress these children make overall. Staff identify gaps in children's learning and recognise their individual areas of difficulty. Leaders make referrals to other agencies when appropriate and work with parents and professionals from other external agencies to put support plans in place for children with SEND.
Children have regular opportunities throughout the day to be outdoors in the fresh air. Older children play imaginatively in the mud kitchen and have space to be active and enhance their physical development. However, staff do not consistently create sufficiently inspiring play opportunities for the youngest children, who do not have a varied enough range of learning opportunities to support their all-round development when playing outdoors.
Lovely staff,best nursery ever.
