About this early years setting

Canterburys Nursery and Out of School Club is a day nursery in Bolton providing all-year care for children aged two to five. The nursery offers government-funded childcare places for eligible children. At its inspection in June 2025, Ofsted judged the overall effectiveness of the provision to be 'Good'. The inspector noted that children form positive relationships with staff in a caring, homely environment where their well-being is a priority.

The curriculum is ambitious and supports children to develop a positive attitude to learning. Literacy is a key strength, taught through storytelling and imaginative activities. Children are encouraged to become independent, learn nursery rules, and manage their personal care needs. The outdoor garden provides space to climb, swing, and run, with staff teaching children how to manage risks. The inspector reported that support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities is excellent. The nursery maintains good partnerships with parents through regular updates.

What it's like

Children develop loving relationships with their key person and are greeted by friendly staff, making them feel safe, welcome, and ready to learn through fun group sessions. The nursery offers a caring, homely environment where children's well-being is a top priority, encouraging them to explore, grow in confidence, and understand their emotions.

Pricing & funding

Canterburys Nursery Ltd offers sessional care with various start and end times, including full-day care from 8.00am to 6.00pm. Fees are charged based on the sessions booked, with meals charged extra unless a full-day session is booked, which includes all food.
